A Dream That Became Buddy Scoops

But this shop is about more than incredible ice cream.

Buddy Scoops was founded by Ronnie and Lisa Bassett, whose inspiration came straight from the heart. Their love for their children, Chase, Davit, and Kalina, sparked the vision for a family-owned ice cream shop that would serve both sweet treats and a greater purpose.
Chase was born in 2009. In the years that followed, the Bassett family grew through adoption, welcoming Davit from Armenia in 2013 and Kalina from Serbia in 2017. Today, Chase and Kalina are beloved members of the Oak Grove school community, and Davit is cared for by the incredible staff at Stoner-Thomas.
Over time, two things became very clear. Chase dreamed of owning an ice cream shop one day. And Kalina absolutely loves ice cream.
So Ronnie and Lisa asked a simple but powerful question:
What if we could build something that creates meaningful jobs and brings happiness to the entire community?
Buddy Scoops was the answer.
This family-owned ice cream shop was created to provide employment opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities while serving up gourmet ice cream, thick milkshakes, refreshing Italian ice, and classic fountain drinks.

Buddy Scoops was built on one big idea: ice cream makes people happy.
But even more than that, people make people happy.
We are incredibly proud of our team. Three of our staff members hold a very special place in our Buddy Scoops family. They show up with enthusiasm, heart, and contagious joy. They work hard. They serve with kindness. They remind us daily what real community looks like.
Their dedication and spirit shape the culture of our shop. Because of them, Buddy Scoops is not just a place to grab dessert. It is a place where everyone belongs.

Meet Our ALL STAR Staff Members
Chase
Chase was Born December 16, 2009 to Ronnie & Lisa Bassett. Chase is a joyful, driven young man with a heart as big as his dreams. He’s never let anything hold him back and now, he’s scooping up success as the proud owner of his very own ice Cream shop! Known for his contagious smile, love of sweets, and passion for making people happy. Chase has turned his love for ice cream into a place where community, kindness, and sprinkles always come together. Whether you’re stopping by for a scoop or a smile, Chase is ready to welcome you with open arms and a whole lot of heart.

Kalina
Kalina was born in Serbia on January 14, 2013 and she underwent open heart surgery before being placed in an orphanage.
Kalina’s journey took a beautiful turn in May 2017 when she was adopted into the Bassett family. Kalina has a love for ice Cream that could give anyone a run for their money, and she lights up at life’s little joys. Whether it’s a sunny day, a sweet treat, or a new adventure, she embraces each moment with a smile (and a little bit of sass). She loves to meet new people and will always greet you with a big hug!

Davit
Davit was born in Armenia on June 22, 2010 and began a new chapter of life in February 2013 when he was adopted at the age of 2 years old, into the Bassett Family.
Davit has grown up embracing the simple joys in life. He loves country music and is the happiest when he is in the pool or at the beach. He was diagnosed with Autism in 2024 and though he is non-verbal, he has learned to communicate with those around him in a special way. His story is one of the warmth, resilience, and finding happiness i the little things. Though he is not a fan of ice cream, he loves cookies!
